The value of tradition in the agriculture industry fuels my passion. Entailing hard work, deserving respect and remaining true to its roots, agriculture provides a stable foundation for our country’s future.
I am Paige Dexter, born and raised in the Sandhills near Chambers, NE. I am blessed with two graciously supportive parents, Brad and Jane Dexter, and I grew up with two of the most loving older brothers. Production agriculture runs deep in my family, and growing up on the ranch, I appreciate working cattle and mowing and raking hay. Though formal agricultural education began for me just two years ago with my chapter’s establishment, the program has truly changed my life. The leadership, service, and experience within FFA and agricultural education has opened my eyes to a whole new world and helped me find my place in it.
The agriculture industry and our teams need us to contribute the best of our strengths and talents. My desire to achieve serves as my greatest strength. No matter how big or small the project is, I have always been taught to do my best. This transfers into every aspect of my life, and I encourage others to adhere to the same principle. Responsibility provides another strength as I take on many challenges and projects in leadership roles as well as in life in general. This leads to my third strength of being futuristic. I find the present, as well as the future, incredibly intriguing. I often ask myself, “What can I do to change the world?” This attitude creates in me a burning passion within myself to go above and beyond, fighting to accomplish my every dream.
Through FFA experiences, I have experienced the unity of our organization; building leadership skills, developing strong teams, learning effective ways to advocate for agriculture and bringing awareness of the industry’s issues to others. I enjoy growing through FFA and other activities in my school and community – speech, 4-H and my church. I understand that service, learning and standing up for what I believe in help establish my place in this world and how I will influence the world around me.
My SAE includes working on my family ranch with cattle and under my dad in his hay equipment business. I learned technical skills including entrepreneurship and business skills. This experience translates into my career goals as I wish to one day own my own ranch and provide for a family, much like my parents have.
Find your passion, set your dreams on fire and never give up on making your dreams a reality. Let your faith be bigger than your fears. Always believe in yourself. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
I look forward to serving you this year!
